- Christopher Sigman arrived as the port of Philadelphia aboard the ship "Charming Nancy" 9 November 1738. He was of German descent and of five Sighman (Sigman) males over the age of sixteen on board. In 1767 he came from Pennsylvania to North Carolina and in the same year bought 200 acres of land from Nichlos Frey on Clarks Creek in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. This land is now Catawba County, North Carolina near the town of Newton. Sons Bernard and John were administrators of his estate.

- The Sigman family was from Germany and landed at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania aboard the ship "Charming Nancy" on 9 Nov 1738. In 1767 Christopher Sigman came from Pennsylvania to North Carolina and in the same year bought 200 acres of land from Nichlas Frey on Clarks Creek in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. This land is now in Catawba County, North Carolina near the town of Newton and near St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He died in 1789. Sons Bernard and John were administrators of his estate, however the final estate papers cannot be found in the old records. Parents: Male SIGMAN.
